Edel Rodriguez, the Man behind the Popular Donald

Edel Rodriguez, the Man behind the Popular Donald

Most of you might not have heard of the name Edel Rodriguez, but it’s nearly impossible to not have seen the covers and illustrations he has made in the past, especially since the 2016 US elections, when illustrations got published on big magazines like TIME and Der Spiegel. Rodriguez traveled to America from Cuba during the Mariel Boatlift crisis in the 1970s. Because of this, he considers politics to be a very important part of his life and he tries to show this through his art. Many of his illustrations have targeted Donald Trump and the eccentric behaviour he shows in public and he actively speaks against Trump on his Twitter as well.
