Italian street artist Fabio Petani just concluded his new project titled “Carbon Dioxide & Calathea Makoyana” as part of the StreetArtBall Project. It was created to join street art and sport in a bid to support the community’s urban regeneration.
This enterprise conveys the rebirth after the horrible period of the pandemic, which affected their area, and also pays attention to the environment. Fabio Petani’s works are marked by a disorderly harmony of lines, shapes, and volumes, which complement each other via the use of faint and harmonious colors, blended into breaking elements. His research dissects the chemical and molecular parts of objects giving rise to a lengthy operation of rearrangement of the elements in the periodic table. An increasingly elaborated production that displays an ever-changing organic complexity.
Every chemical element, just like each plant, is connected to the environment, space, or the context in which the wall is constructed. The importance of the connection between context and work is also evoked by his works on wood, paper, and other substitute materials. It is through the use of such materials that Fabio Petani tries to get immersed by the matter, to end the periodic table with a collection of artworks able to tell a story about the magic between art, chemistry, and nature.
