My name is Jayne Melissa Hughes and I am an Illustrator based in the North East of England. I have a First Class Hons in Illustration and Design and I am very passionate about picture books, character design and storytelling.
I have made picture books for personal projects and shared them with schools and libraries. I have worked alongside an author and produced illustrations for a picture book named The Magic of Nowhere by Elizabeth Simington.
Art, illustration and design has been a huge part of my life and I have been studying art and illustration for six years at New College Durham and Sunderland University.
I enjoy finding new media to work with, never shying away from new challenges. I believe that there’s always something new to learn, to help me grow as both a person and as an artist.
